Auburn University promotes Kevin Robinson to vice president for audit, compliance and privacy

Kevin Robinson has been promoted to Auburn University’s vice president for audit, compliance and privacy, President Christopher B. Roberts announced today.

Robinson, whose appointment is effective immediately, reports to Roberts and the Board of Trustees. Since 2015, he has served as Auburn’s associate vice president for audit, compliance and privacy. He has been at the university for 34 years and previously served as the executive director of internal auditing from 2001-15.

Robinson is a Certified Internal Auditor and a Certified Fraud Examiner. Additionally, he is a past president of the Association of College and University Auditors. Robinson is the primary author of the highly popular monthly electronic newsletter “Case in Point: Lessons for the Proactive Manager,” which discusses emerging risks in higher education.

Kevin possesses extensive knowledge and a broad range of expertise in the areas of audit and compliance,” Roberts said. “He has devoted his career to Auburn University, and I look forward to working with Kevin in this capacity.”

Robinson currently oversees the Divisions of Internal Auditing and Institutional Compliance and Privacy. In this new structure, the Department of Campus Safety and Security, the Office of Affirmative Action/Equal Employment Opportunity and the Title IX office will now be included under Robinson’s purview.

“I’ve spent my career focused on the betterment of Auburn and truly believe in its mission and values,” Robinson said. “I’m looking forward to serving the university in this new role. I appreciate this opportunity and look forward to working with President Roberts and these additional units to improve Auburn University.”

Robinson earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from Auburn. He is an adjunct instructor in the Harbert College of Business’ School of Accountancy, where he teaches “Fraud Examination” in the Master of Accountancy program.
