Every fall, tens of thousands of football fans descend on the Auburn University campus to participate in a tradition almost as important as the game itself: tailgating. It's a way of life here on the Plains and at college campuses all over the country. Auburn University's new Tailgate Times website is a central source for information on safe tailgating.

A collaboration between Auburn University's Family Child Care Partnerships, or FCCP, program and PNC Financial Services Group is now in its third year, and is enhancing how more than 200 home-based child care providers nurture and educate more than 1,000 infants, toddlers and preschoolers throughout Alabama.

Auburn University alumnus Brady Augustine, a leader in health systems operations and improvement, will give a public talk Thursday, Sept. 10, at 3 p.m. on "The Rise of the Health Data Scientist" in the Caroline Marshall Draughon Auditorium in the Ralph Brown Draughon Library.

The Disabled American Veteran, or DAV, Mobile Service Office will be on Auburns campus Tuesday, Sept. 8, to counsel, support and educate veterans and their families in the Auburn area about benefits and services.The van will be located at the intersection of the Thach Concourse and Foy Circle from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m and will be open to all students, faculty, staff and community members.Housed in a fleet of well equipped "offices on wheels," DAV's Mobile Service Offices travel to smaller towns and rural communities across the country to assist veterans and their families on the benefits and services available to them in thanks for their service."Veterans on campus and in the community are encouraged to stop by on Tuesday to file or update their claims and learn about eBenefits," said Eugene Benford, Disabled American Veterans Twin Cities Chapter 95 commander.

The National Center for Asphalt Technology, or NCAT, at Auburn University has partnered with Pavia Systems for the use of HeadLight, a project inspection tool, to be used in pavement test track research.
