Auburn Connection:
When it was time for me to transfer to a four-year college, Auburn was the only choice I even considered. From the time I was 9 years old I wanted to be an archaeologist - my older brother called me 'MaryAnna Jones.' I came to Auburn as a hopeful anthropology major and graduated with a fine arts degree in graphic design - how does that happen? I'm still not sure myself, but I do know that graphic design is what I was meant to do with my life. There is no better fit for me.

Interests:
I love kittens, zombies, Star Wars, technology and anything creative. There is no end to the geekery that is my life. I am an avid collector of LEGO mini figures and vintage children's books. I have an entire studio home-office full of art supplies and not enough time to try all the mediums I have an interest in.

Greatest Accomplishment:
Several years ago I founded The Doodle Swap Project (www.doodle-swap.com), a collaborative creative group of designers, illustrators and artists who swap small, original art across the world. I wanted an outlet that gave me the encouragement to draw and be more creative, so I began this group with other designers. It has been a huge source of inspiration to me. I have found that creating art and sending it away is even more satisfying than keeping sketchbooks full of doodles. I feel like sending that art away gives me a purpose to create over and over again rather than coveting drawings that are hidden away in a book. I get a lot of joy from collecting art from others and from hearing the stories of how this group has challenged others and given them inspiration to be more creative. I've met some amazing and talented people organizing The Doodle Swap Project and I hope to expand its network of creative inspiration in the future.
