Herb Payne was a successful industrial engineer when his sudden passing in 1997 left his family devastated. His widow, Nancy Payne, turned tragedy into possibility by memorializing Herb and supporting the next generation at Auburn.

When Elizabeth Brestan-Knight joined the Auburn faculty in 1999, she was one of the first in Alabama to be trained in parent-child interaction therapy (PCIT). Now, the Alma Holladay Professor of Psychological Sciences is expanding the reach of PCIT to the benefit of families around the world.
