CityBuilders, an initiative of Auburn University’s Master of Real Estate Development, or MRED, program, will host its 2023 symposium and industry networking event on May 25 at Truist Park, home of the Atlanta Braves.

This year’s event, The Future of Industrial Real Estate and Logistics, will provide insight into future industry challenges and opportunities from prominent Southeast real estate developers, capital providers and global logistics leaders.

Registration for remaining seats extends through May 19. The symposium will begin at noon with a luncheon featuring guest speaker Carl DeLuca, head of Real Estate Solutions, Americas, for DHL Real Estate Solutions. Three panel discussions will follow:

  • Current Landscape and Outlook for Logistics and E-Commerce
  • Capital and Credit Providers
  • Meet the Developers

An exclusive industry networking event will follow at the Xfinity Rooftop Lounge at Truist Park, where attendees will watch the Atlanta Braves vs. Philadelphia Phillies, starting at 7:20 p.m.

Event hosts will be Justin Benefield, faculty director of the Auburn MRED program; Kim Kuerten, executive director, Graduate Executive Programs at the Harbert College of Business; and Greg Winchester, founder and CEO of Summit Investors LLC, and head of Industry and Alumni Relations for Auburn MRED.

“This year’s event is going to benefit anyone in industrial real estate or supply chain logistics,” said Benefield. “Viewed through a commercial real estate lens, warehousing and logistics entail navigating a multitude of intricate variables related to the movement, reception and retention of physical products. Location, size and storage capacities of warehouse and distribution centers play a crucial role in ensuring efficient transportation, satisfying customers and creating opportunities for future expansion.”

The symposium delivers on the mission of CityBuilders and Auburn MRED, a joint program from Auburn’s Harbert College of Business and the College of Architecture, Design and Construction, to drive scholarship and thought leadership in commercial real estate development throughout the region.
