Auburn held its 18th annual Faculty Awards on Thursday, Nov. 17, honoring exceptional teaching, research and outreach achievements. The ceremony brought more than 200 faculty members, administrators and guests to the Hotel at Auburn University and Dixon Conference Center as this year’s honorees received their accolades.
Presented annually, the awards demonstrate Auburn’s success in advancing its mission and showcase faculty excellence across numerous innovations and collaborations. This year’s event celebrated more than 20 faculty members’ contributions, including top awards for research, scholarship, outreach and teaching.
“Those of you being recognized tonight represent the best of Auburn through your investments in our students, your mentorship, and your ability to advance scholarship and creative endeavors while serving as examples of outreach and service,” said President Christopher B. Roberts. “Because of you, Auburn has continued to outshine our peers in rankings that demonstrate we are the institution of choice for students and an aspirant campus for prospective faculty.”

Sarah Blaine, assistant professor in the Department of Psychological Sciences in the College of Liberal Arts was one of three faculty members honored with the 2022 Alumni Undergraduate Teaching Excellence Award, presented by Gretchen VanValkenburg, Vice President of Engagement for Auburn Advancement.

Ford Dyke, associate clinical professor in the School of Kinesiology in the College of Education was one of three faculty members honored with the 2022 Alumni Undergraduate Teaching Excellence Award, presented by Gretchen VanValkenburg, Vice President of Engagement for Auburn Advancement.

Robert Jackson, the Albert Smith Jr. Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering in the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering, receives the 2022 Provost’s Award for Faculty Excellence in Undergraduate Research Mentoring from Interim Provost Vini Nathan.

Jin Wang, Woltosz Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering in the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering, accepts the 2022 Creative Research and Scholarship Award from Interim Provost Vini Nathan. The awards are the university’s highest honors for research and scholarship.

Brian Connelly, professor and Luck Eminent Scholar in the Department of Management and Entrepreneurship in the Harbert College of Business accepts the 2022 Creative Research and Scholarship Award from Interim Provost Vini Nathan. Linda Gibson-Young, the East Alabama Medical Center and Dr. Bill Lazenby Endowed Professor in the College of Nursing, receives the 2022 Award for Excellence in Faculty Outreach from Royrickers Cook, Vice President for University Outreach. The award is the university’s highest honor for faculty outreach.

Alan Wilson, professor in the School of Fisheries, Aquaculture and Aquatic Sciences in the College of Agriculture, receives the 2022 Leischuck Award for Excellence in Teaching. The award is the university’s highest accolade for teaching.
