Auburn’s online programs receive top rankings from U.S. News & World Report

Auburn University’s online graduate programs are among the nation’s best, according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2022 Best Online Program rankings released Jan. 25.
Auburn college and schools receiving overall “best” national designations include the College of Education, No. 14 among colleges of education; Samuel Ginn College of Engineering, No. 17 among engineering colleges; the Harbert College of Business’ MBA program at No. 31 and its overall graduate programs also at No. 31 among business colleges; and the School of Nursing at No. 76 among nursing schools.
“These rankings are testament to the innovation, talent and commitment of our faculty as we continue to deliver exceptional instruction through our traditional and online classrooms,” Provost Bill Hardgrave said. “As more students seek an Auburn education, I’m proud that our campus continues to advance our learning outcomes and engage more students across diverse modalities.”
For online programs for veterans, Auburn achieved “best” national designations at No. 4 for the College of Education, No. 11 for the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering, No. 16 for the Harbert College of Business’ overall graduate programs and No. 22 for Harbert College’s MBA.
Individual programs also receiving “best” national designations include College of Education: Educational Administration and Supervision, No. 5, and Curriculum and Instruction, No. 17; Samuel Ginn College of Engineering: Civil Engineering, No. 5, Mechanical Engineering, No. 11, Industrial Engineering, No. 14, Engineering Management, No. 17, and Computer Science and Software Engineering, No. 31; Harbert College of Business: Management, No. 10, Business Analytics, No. 12, and Finance, No. 15; and School of Nursing: Family Nurse Practitioner Programs, No. 10.
In addition to numerous graduate programs, the university currently offers three online undergraduate completer programs—a Bachelor of Science in business administration, an RN to BSN and a Bachelor of Computer Science—for students and professionals who have earned some college credits and want to complete their degrees at Auburn. In the fall, a completer program will be added in the Department of Human Development and Family Science for its early child development concentration.
The U.S. News & World Report Best Online Programs rankings are based on factors such as student engagement and excellence, faculty credentials and training, expert opinion and services and technology.
