A message from President Gogue about voting

Election Day is right around the corner. If you haven’t already, please make sure you vote.
More so than any time I can recall, this campaign season has been characterized by a level of acrimony that is well beyond the free expression of ideas on which our democracy rests. Our political conversations have turned unhealthy and destructive, in many cases.
With all the negativity comes an incredible opportunity, and that’s the opportunity to express our views with lasting impact and influence. In addition to the act of voting, we have the chance to turn the national conversation to something more productive, beneficial and helpful to all of us individually and collectively.
Regardless of your thoughts on candidates or the election’s outcome, I call on us all to stay true to our Auburn values, to encourage constructive dialogue and to respect each other before, during and after the election.
As we recognize that each individual’s unique life experiences shape our opinions, we can learn from each other and grow together.
