Individuals interested in serving in one of three open positions on the Auburn University Board of Trustees are encouraged to submit their nomination information to the selection committee.

Alabama voters earlier this month approved a constitutional amendment that added two new at-large positions to Auburn’s governing body. In addition, the term of Raymond Harbert, who holds an existing at-large position, has expired. Harbert is eligible to serve an additional seven-year term.

Gov. Robert Bentley, president of the Auburn Board, announced the nomination process, which is defined in the Alabama Constitution. “Members of the committee are looking for leaders who are forward-looking, service-oriented and dedicated to furthering Auburn’s instruction, research and extension missions,” Bentley wrote in a letter to the Auburn Family, available at https://cws.auburn.edu/botapp/Content/governor-letter-2016.pdf.

Interested individuals should submit nomination information at https://cws.auburn.edu/botapp by Friday, Dec. 16. The selection committee is comprised of the governor or his designee, Beau Byrd and Jack Fite representing the Auburn Alumni Association’s Board of Directors, and Auburn Trustees Charles McCrary and Elizabeth Huntley. After reviewing nominees, the committee will make appointments to each position. The Alabama State Senate considers each appointment for confirmation.
