Auburn University has been selected as the host for the 2018 International Writing Across the Curriculum Conference, an annual event that focuses on integrating writing into disciplinary courses. The theme of the 2018 conference—“Making Connections”—will emphasize how writing across the curriculum fosters connections.

Students in the College of Sciences and Mathematics at Auburn University are consistently accepted to medical school at a rate that is more than 30 percent higher than the national average. Additionally, acceptance rates of Auburn students to optometry and dental schools are at 85 to 100 percent almost every year. The reason for these long-standing statistics has much to do with Beverley Childress, pre-health professions director for the College of Sciences and Mathematics. For more than 19 years, Childress has mentored, guided and established programs for Auburn students who have a desire for a career in health care.

Auburn University's Huntsville Research Center will host top cyber security professionals from across the nation for the eighth annual National Cyber Summit June 8-9 in the south hall of the Von Braun Center. Approximately 500 Auburn University employees were recently recognized at the Employee Recognition Program held at The Hotel at Auburn University and Dixon Conference Center.Auburn University President Jay Gogue thanked the employees for their service and commitment to the university during the program. Four Auburn University alumni have been awarded Fulbright Scholarships, a celebrated educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government. Recent Auburn University graduates Catherine Tabor, Andrew Bates, Brianna Gorman and Benjamin Cole will continue their studies in Austria, Sweden and Germany. This is the second consecutive year that four Auburn students have received Fulbright Scholarships.
