To increase diversity in the undergraduate student population at Auburn University, the Auburn Alumni Association has increased its financial support to the Provost Leadership Undergraduate Scholarship, or PLUS, annual scholarship program. The PLUS scholarships assist participants financially by providing them a $2,000 scholarship per academic year renewable up to three years, and supports them academically and socially to ensure that they succeed at Auburn University.

"The Auburn Alumni Association is proud to be a part of raising scholarship dollars for students who qualify for a PLUS award," said Debbie Shaw, vice president of alumni affairs and executive director of the Auburn Alumni Association. "Helping students succeed in college and becoming an Auburn graduate is important to us, and helping to provide financial resources will help students reach these goals."

The Auburn Alumni Association PLUS scholarship began in 2008 to increase diversity among undergraduate students at Auburn University, and to support the efforts of the Provost who created the program. Nine students are currently receiving an Auburn Alumni Association PLUS scholarship. Since 2008, 28 scholarships have been awarded.

"The growth of the Alumni PLUS scholarship has continued to be a strong initiative of the Auburn Alumni Association. Providing financial opportunities to underrepresented students is a commitment to engaging current and future students to develop and grow into active alumni for the university and the Auburn Alumni Association" said Jack Fite, president of the Auburn Alumni Association.
