April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, or SAAM, and this year's theme is "Embrace Your Voice." The Women's Initiatives in the Office of Inclusion and Diversity, Women's Studies in the College of Liberal Arts, Health Promotion and Wellness Services and the Auburn University Libraries are hosting several SAAM events, including:

  • April 9: Lindsey Forson, a graduate student in political science, will present on “Engaging in Advocacy,” from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in 2370 Haley Center. The workshop will show students how they can embrace their voice when it comes to advocating for a cause and contact their local, state and national government representatives on issues they find important.
  • April 11: A screening of the film “Rape on the Night Shift” and a panel discussion with local community leaders will take place from 5-7 p.m. in Langdon Hall.
  • April 23: A screening of the film “It Happened Here” and a panel discussion from 4-7 p.m. in 2370 Haley Center.
