Article body

Faculty Learning Communities (FLC) are informal opportunities for cross-disciplinary conversations about new and pressing issues in the teaching of writing.

In this FLC, participants will discuss alternatives to traditional grading, such as contract grading, specification grading and ePortfolios. How can alternative approaches to grading promote student engagement, especially in the age of artificial intelligence? In what ways might these alternatives support diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility? What are some common pitfalls of these alternatives, and how can instructors overcome them?

We will discuss these and other questions, with examples from Auburn instructors.

This FLC will meet every other Tuesday, starting Sept. 12 until Oct. 24, from 12:30-1:45 p.m. Register by Sept. 11.
