New chief engagement officer announced

On June 1, Kurt Sasser was named Auburn Advancement’s Chief Engagement Officer and Director of the Auburn Alumni Association. In his new role, Kurt will be responsible for growing and fostering meaningful connections with alumni, friends and stakeholders.

“It is with great excitement I join the engagement team in Advancement,” Sasser said. “I look forward to collaboratively, strategically, and innovatively engaging every member of the Auburn Family.”

Sasser most recently served as an associate director of philanthropy in the Harbert College of Business and was previously director of development for Student Affairs. His private sector experience includes working at Delta Air Lines in Global Sales in Nashville, Tenn. where he oversaw a corporate and agency portfolio of 30 accounts totaling more than $16 million in revenue.

Sasser is a two-time graduate of the Harbert College of Business, earning his bachelor’s degree in 2011 and master’s degree in 2016.

Sasser and his wife, Kelly, have two children, Adalynn and Shepherd. He enjoys running, playing golf, grilling out with his family and reading.
