Kelvin King, Auburn University’s executive director of Campus Safety and Security, has been named to a Southeastern Conference working group on event security that reviews and updates policies regarding post-game spectator incursions on competition fields and courts in the SEC.

The group also considers strategies to support effective crowd management for the purpose of enhancing the safety and experience of fans, teams, staff and officials. King began in his role at Auburn in 2018 after retiring from the FBI with more than 27 years of distinguished service, including 14 years in the Opelika/Auburn office as the senior resident agent responsible for day-to-day operations such as providing investigative leadership and guidance to agents. Prior to Auburn, King worked for the FBI Mobile (Alabama) Division’s Montgomery satellite office where he served as supervisory senior resident agent.
