Learning and Teaching Difficult History in our Community panel discussion to be held April 11

Auburn’s College of Education, College of Liberal Arts and the Alabama Humanities Alliance will host a panel discussion on teaching difficult histories on April 11 from 5-7 p.m. at Pebble Hill located at 101 S. Debardeleben St. in Auburn.

Learn how to teach the intersecting difficult histories of Muscogee Creek and enslaved people in the community. Guest Indigenous history scholars including the Poarch Band of Creek Indians will lead the panel discussion. Following the panel, a facilitated small group reflection will allow participants to explore primary source resources for teaching these histories to K-12 students.
