The Auburn University Learning Assistant Program, or AULAP, is looking for student participants for the fall semester.

Undergraduate students may apply to become a learning assistant for a class they passed with a grade of B or higher. Learning assistants gain valuable, hands-on experience in the classroom, get paid for their work and can use the position on their resume or graduate school application.

Learning assistants offer a psychological advantage for students in difficult courses like physics, especially to non-majors. They serve a critical role as dedicated and skilled facilitators to cultivate active learning and collaborative instruction in large lectures, discussions and/or labs.

For fall semester, 33 courses will be open for students to apply, with strong encouragement to those courses of physics, math and statistics. The student application is due on Friday, April 14.

Interested students may attend one of these information sessions in Room 170B of the ACLC Building for more information:

  • Wednesday, April 5, from 2-4 p.m.
  • Thursday, April 13, from noon-2 p.m.

AULAP is currently funded by the College of Sciences and Mathematics, with support from the Biggio Center.
