Auburn University’s Outreach Global office is hosting its second annual Global Community Day festival on April 15, from 9 a.m.-6:30 p.m. at the Auburn Intramural Fields located at 350 Biggio Dr.

The Auburn Family is invited to attend and experience international cuisine, diverse cultural dance and music, arts and crafts, a parade of the flags, a global attire showcase, games and fun activities for the entire family. Additionally, enjoy a special concert performance by the Atlanta Korean Traditional Music Academy, Soweto Beat Dance from South Africa, Sonic Nation and other musical groups.

“Members of the international community are looking for a sense of belonging in their local communities,” said Elizabeth I. Quansah, director of Outreach Global. “The purpose of this festival is to bridge the gap between the local and international communities in our area, promote unity and support our diverse population.”

“The festival was meaningful to me because it brought me a sense of unity in Auburn. I don’t really get see different cultures, but the festival brought us an eye-opening experience of different cultures, coming together and I think everybody, me included was grateful for this experience”, shared Steven Do, a student volunteer and participant at last year’s Global Community Day Festival.

The festival is sponsored by Auburn University Outreach Global, Spicer’s Music, Auburn University Campus Recreation, Wells printing, 4 Imprint, Boosters, Auburn Korea Corner and Krispy Kreme.
