Matt Miller, professor and director of the Performance and Exercise Psychophysiology Lab, has been named the assistant director of the School of Kinesiology. Miller becomes the school’s third assistant director, following Jared Russell. Russell has taken on a new role in the College of Education, serving as associate dean for academic and faculty affairs.

“Dr. Miller will be continuing our efforts in diversity and inclusion,” said Mary Rudisill, director of the School of Kinesiology. “He will also assist in opening our Doctor of Physical Therapy program, including hiring new faculty and preparing facilities for the program.”

Miller will continue his role as graduate program officer and will continue graduate teaching. He is completing a leadership institute through the American Kinesiology Association, which will give him tools and training to be an effective leader.

“I’m looking forward to serving the School of Kinesiology in this new role,” Miller said. “I want to be a part of telling the stories of our school — emphasizing what we do and our mission, while continuing to work alongside our doctoral students in a mentorship role.”
