French student awarded spot for prestigious 2023 Summer Institute offered by the Centre de la Francophonie des Amériques

French student Abby Heinzen was awarded a spot for the 2023 Summer Institute of the Centre de la Francophonie des Amériques in Quebec City. The institute will take place at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, May 22-27. Only 45 participants were selected out of more than 300 applicants from various countries in the Americas.

The objective of this institute is to take a renewed look at the Francophonie of the Americas and contribute to the emergence of the field of study. The institute is a place of learning, conversations and exchanges between internationally renowned specialists and the participants.

 Additionally, Abby was recently accepted to pursue a Ph.D. in French at Duke University.
