Lowder Center to host Techstars Startup Weekend
Article body
From the evening of Mar. 24-26, the Lowder Center for Family Business and Entrepreneurship is hosting Startup Weekend Auburn for students and local innovators to advance their entrepreneurial skills.
Techstars Startup Weekend is a collaborative event where participants will be placed into teams and have 54 hours to work together to create a new business idea, develop a working demo or prototype and present to a panel of judges.
Joshua Sahib, managing director of the Lowder Center, describes Startup Weekend as “a unique opportunity where over a single weekend, you can transform an idea into something tangible. Many successful companies began at Startup Weekend. In fact, I previously competed in a Startup Weekend, met some great teammates, and co-founded a company as a result of the event.”
This event is an ideal opportunity for individuals who want to meet mentors, industry experts, and potential co-founders that can help bring business ideas to life. Participants will also receive a swag bag, meals throughout the weekend, and a t-shirt.
