Students gathered on Feb. 18 to dance the night away to help Auburn University Dance Marathon, or AUDM, raise funds and awareness for pediatric health care. The event, now in its 12th year, raised more than $276,000 to benefit Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital, a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital in Columbus, Georgia.

AUDM’s yearlong philanthropic campaign culminates every February with Main Event, a 12-hour fundraising push where students “stay on their feet for those who can’t.” This year’s event was held in the Melton Student Center Ballroom.

Every year Main Event continues to be a unique and impactful event for both the students who participate and the families who directly benefit from AUDM’s support. Current and former patients of Piedmont Columbus Regional, known as Miracle Kids, attend the event to share their personal stories with more than 350 AUDM participants.

Since 2011, AUDM has raised more $3.5 million for Piedmont Columbus Regional, helping to fund the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and a Pediatric Ambulance equipped with cutting-edge, life-saving technology.
