Registration discount for International Perspectives on University Teaching and Learning symposium to close March 1

The International Perspectives on University Teaching and Learning Symposium, or IPUTL, hosted by the Auburn University Office of International Programs, will be held May 28-30 at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando, Florida. Attendees can take advantage of discounted early bird registration until March 1.

Early bird registration is $700 until March 1, after which the price increases to $750. Registration includes all workshops, the opening dinner and reception at Epcot, all symposium sessions and breakfast, lunch and break snacks.

Since the symposium will be held during Memorial Day Weekend, attendees are encouraged to register, book their hotel and purchase park tickets as soon as possible. Discounted rooms at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort are available through the IPUTL website.

IPUTL’s inspirational slate of keynote speakers will allow attendees to be part of leading-edge conversations about the direction of international higher education in a post-pandemic world. Spanning across continents and fields of study, the keynote speakers will offer a wide range of expertise and provide unique takeaways for attendees. This year, IPUTL will feature two solo keynote presentations as well as two keynote panels.

The two solo keynote speakers are Karen McBride, president and founder at Bound International LLC, and William (Bill) Buskist, Distinguished Professor Emeritus in psychology.

The “What’s Next: How to Internationalize Our Own Teaching and Learning Skills, Products and Networks” panel includes:

• Moderator, James E. Groccia, professor emeritus of higher education, Auburn University and visiting professor at the Institute of Educational Sciences, University of Tartu, Estonia;
• Aferdita Krasniqi, Outreach and Recruitment Specialist, Institute of International Education, New York City;
• Catherine Wehlburg, provost and vice president for Academic Affairs, Athens State University;
• Pamela Maimer, senior program manager, International Studies Division, U.S. Department of Education.

For the “Reviewing the Situation: Landscapes of International Education” panel, IPUTL has invited:

• Moderator Michael Woolf, deputy president for Strategic Development, CAPA: The Global Education Network;
• Marina Casals Sala, director of International Relations, Universitat Rovira i Virgili, Tarragona, Spain;
• Markus Laitinen, head of International Affairs, University of Helsinki, Finland;
• Shinnosuke Obi, vice president and professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Keio University, Japan;
• Lavern Samuels, director, International Education and Partnerships, Durban University of Technology, South Africa, and vice president and president elect, International Education Association of South Africa.
