Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. national president Elsie Cooke-Holmes presented a keynote address at a Founder’s Day luncheon hosted by the Auburn University Kappa Upsilon chapter of the organization.

Cooke-Holmes serves as the 28th president and CEO of the organization, which was founded on Jan. 13, 1913, at Howard University. The Kappa Upsilon chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta was established at Auburn in January 1974 and is a member organization of the National Pan-Hellenic Council.

“Having the opportunity to fellowship with Soror Cooke-Holmes and discuss some of the staple programs the chapter has successfully conducted meant a lot to me,” said Jaylin Hubbert, Kappa Upsilon chapter president. “She recognizes the hard work of the chapter and reminded us that it does not go unnoticed.”

After the luncheon, members of the Kappa Upsilon chapter and Gamma Tau chapter from Tuskegee University had the opportunity to share several programs and initiatives they had completed in the community.
