Third Thursday poetry series to present Beth Ann Fennelly

The public is invited to the Third Thursday Poetry Series at Pebble Hill, featuring Beth Ann Fennelly, at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16. Refreshments and book sales will be available at 6 p.m., and the reading will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Fennelly, the Poet Laureate of Mississippi from 2016-21, teaches in the MFA program at the University of Mississippi, where she is a four-time teaching award winner. She has published six books, including three of poetry.

Her poetry has been in more than 50 anthologies, including "Best American Poetry" in 1996, 2005 and 2006, "The Book of Irish American Poetry from the Eighteenth Century to the Present," "Poets of the New Century," "The Penguin Book of the Sonnet" and in textbooks such as Contemporary American Poetry and Literature.

The Third Thursday Poetry Series at Pebble Hill is sponsored by the Caroline Marshall Draughon Center for the Arts & Humanities, the Department of English and Southern Humanities Review in the College of Liberal Arts at Auburn University, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Auburn University and the Alabama State Council on the Arts.
