Samuel Ginn College of Engineering to host John O. Dabiri on March 15

Auburn University faculty are invited to hear and learn from John O. Dabiri, Centennial Chair Professor at the California Institute of Technology on Wednesday, March 15, at 3 p.m., in the Brown-Kopel Center grand ballroom, presented by the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering.

Dabiri, who serves among President Biden’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology and on the Secretary of Energy Advisory Board, focuses his research on unsteady fluid mechanics and flow physics, with a particular emphasis on topics relevant to biology, energy and the environment. Other interests include biological fluid dynamics in the ocean, next-generation wind energy and development of new experimental methods.

A decorated scholar, Dabiri is a MacArthur Fellow, Fellow of the American Physical Society, earned the Alan T. Waterman Award from the National Science Foundation, the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers, the Office of Naval Research Young Investigator Program Award, was one of MIT Technology Review's "35 Innovators Under 35" and named to Popular Science's "Brilliant 10."
