Auburn University's student-run public relations firm The Oaks Agency has earned the honor of Nationally Affiliated Student-Run Firm by the Public Relations Student Society of America, or PRSSA.

PRSSA is the leading professional society for those interested in the field of public relations. Earning a PRSSA affiliation is a high honor given only to firms that have demonstrated PRSSA’s core values for student-run firms. These values include advocacy, expertise, independence, loyalty, fairness and free flow of information. The Oaks Agency was recognized for upholding these values and exhibiting outstanding achievements in the public relations field.

The Oaks Agency will celebrate its third year on campus in the spring of 2023, making it an even more impressive feat to have received the PRSSA affiliation so quickly. Firm Director Weston Ball made it his first goal to acquire this recognition for The Oaks Agency after being elected into the position in November 2022.

“I am so thankful to PRSSA/PRCA for recognizing our agency and the important work it does,” said Ball. “Becoming a PRSSA-affiliated agency opens the door to countless opportunities for The Oaks Agency. This is another vital step in growing our agency into a premier campus organization where students can gain valuable, real-world experience to help them succeed in post-graduation endeavors.”

With the PRSSA affiliation, The Oaks Agency will have more opportunities to work with the professional society to broaden networks, enhance public relations education and advance career skills for members of the agency. This year, the agency has 52 members and nine local clients.
