Volunteers needed for tree planting event

The Office of Sustainability and Kreher Preserve and Nature Center, or KPNC, invite volunteers to participate in "Plant Ahead: A Tree Planting Event."

Participants will plant long-leaf pine and learn about forestry practices, Alabama’s native flora and how to properly plant trees while enjoying the preserve. Registration is requested, but not required, on the Office of Sustainability GivePulse, which includes details on what to wear and bring. Please arrive at the KPNC parking lot at 2222 N. College St. on Thursday, Jan. 26, at 2:30 p.m. If there is a threat of dangerous weather and the event needs to be rescheduled to Jan. 31, volunteers will be notified via GivePulse and on social media.
