Beginning Dec 1, the Office of the Provost will fund the costs of the ProctorU Record+ and ProctorU Review+ features through spring 2024.

Coordinated through the Biggio Center's Testing Services, ProctorU is an online proctoring service that allows students to complete online exams. The platform uses a three-step process to replicate the face-to-face proctoring experience and ensure academic integrity.

Faculty and students are not required to complete additional steps to utilize either feature, and students taking final exams using the Record+ or Review+ features will automatically bypass the payment screen. Students are still required to pay $15 per exam for ProctorU Live+. A full description of available ProctorU services is provided below.

Students or faculty needing immediate support with ProctorU can click the "report a problem" link in the browser add-on to connect with chat support. Additional support is available through the online knowledge base, and virtual and in-person services can be accessed in Canvas.

For questions, please contact the Biggio Center at bighelp@auburn.edu

ProctorU Record+ (cost covered by the Office of the Provost)

Fully automated launch with a professional human-proctored review at the end of each recorded session. ProctorU does the heavy lifting so instructors don't waste time reviewing flags and can instead focus on classes and students. Any suspicious behavior is flagged, and incident reports are filed and sent to the instructor for further review.

Record+ is recommended for regular or low-stakes quizzes needing virtual proctoring; this service does not require a scheduled/proctored launch.

ProctorU Review+ (cost covered by the Office of the Provost)

Live proctored launch whereby a desk pan and a technical environmental check are conducted to remove unpermitted resources. Once a student begins an exam, the platform transitions to an automated approach. At the end of the session, a professional proctor will review the recorded session for any suspicious behavior that is flagged. Any incident reports are filed and sent to the instructor for further review.

Review+ is recommended for most exams, particularly those for which students are allowed specific materials such as one type of calculator. Students will have to schedule a time to take the exam, and instructors must configure the testing window appropriately.

ProctorU Live+ ($15 per exam, paid by student)

Fully proctored exams that include a desk pan and a technical environmental check to remove unpermitted resources. In the event any suspicious behavior is detected during the session, the proctor can intervene in real time and escalate to an intervention specialist if needed. Any suspicious behaviors are flagged, and incident reports are filed and sent to the instructor for further review.

Biggio Testing Services (No cost)

Located in Biggin Hall's NCTA-certified testing center, Testing Services provides in-person proctors for electronic assessments. Services include exam scheduling, proctoring, or faculty-led exams with proctoring help from trained proctors.
