Auburn beech tree named champion of Alabama

Auburn University, in collaboration with Facilities Management and the College of Forestry, Wildlife and Environment, recently had an American beech tree named the largest in Alabama with a circumference of 140 inches and a height of 113 feet. The tree was nominated by University Arborist Alex Hedgepath, who located the tree behind the College of Forestry, Wildlife and Environment on Duncan Drive.Facilities Management Communications produced a video allowing for a bird's eye view of the champion tree at https://youtu.be/Bw4WcOqkmR4.
