This month’s episode of the Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art's podcast, "The Jule Museum Podcast," features poet and professor at Pacific Lutheran University Rick Barot.

This year, Barot was the judge for the Auburn Witness Poetry Prize, a local event created by the Southern Humanities Review that honors the late poet and Auburn alum, Jake Adam York. In the episode, Barot talks about creative writing, poetry and ways of reading art from his unique perspective as a poet with an art historian background.

The episode also features an exclusive reading from one of his poems that highlights ekphrastic poetry, a type of poem that provides an interpretation of another work of art. The podcast is available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and on The Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art’s website.
