The Auburn Department of Physics has announced it is hosting the Conference of Undergraduate Women in Physics, or CUWiP, from Jan. 20-22, 2023, for the southeast region.

The department encourages all undergraduates in physics majors or undergraduates that are physics-interested to apply before the Oct 31 cutoff date to this beneficial three-day regional conference. The goal of the American Physical Society's CUWiP is to help undergraduate women continue in physics by providing them with the opportunity to experience a professional conference, information about graduate school and professions in physics and access to other women in physics of all ages with whom they can share experiences, advice and ideas.

The national and local organizing committees of APS CUWiP strive to create a welcoming environment for all, including undergraduate women and gender minorities. Some highlights of Auburn's CUWiP will include keynote speaker Nadya Mason and Auburn’s special invited speaker Shelia Nash-Stevenson, insightful panel discussions, hands-on application with plasma physics, personal development workshops, many networking opportunities with mentors and star-gazing receptions each evening.

Apply and learn more at Auburn's CUWiP event site. Apply by Oct. 31 at 4 p.m. CST.
