Auburn recognizes Indigenous Peoples’ Day

This Oct. 10, Auburn University and the Office of Inclusion and Diversity, or OID, recognizes Indigenous Peoples’ Day, which serves as a moment to celebrate indigenous peoples’ vast contributions to this land for generations. At the same time, the university acknowledges the historical and current challenges these communities face.  

There are still tribes in Alabama, such as the Poarch Creek and MOWA Choctaw, that call this state home and have historically had a unique and profound impact. Auburn is committed to supporting the indigenous members of its community.
