Pharmacy team advances to Clinical Pharmacy Challenge national quarterfinals
Article body
The Harrison College of Pharmacy’s team competing in the American College of Clinical Pharmacy’s Clinical Pharmacy Challenge recently qualified for the competition’s national quarterfinals as one of the final eight remaining teams.
The team consists of team captain Mattie Kilpatrick, Kaitlin Beyler and Haley Brobst, along with alternates Rachel Friend and Jillian Farrow. All five are members of the Class of 2023. The team moves on to compete in the live final rounds at the American College of Clinical Pharmacy 2022 Global Conference in San Francisco, Oct. 15-17.
The Clinical Pharmacy Challenge is a team-based competition in which teams of three students compete against other teams in a “quiz bowl” type format. More than 100 teams were in the initial round of competition. The Auburn team advanced through four rounds of competition the week of Sept. 12-16 to advance to the quarterfinals.
This marks only the third time the Harrison College of Pharmacy team has made it this far in the competition and the third year in a row to make at least the top 16. Last year’s team made the top 16 with the 2020 team earning national runner-up honors. The team is advised by Dr. Emily McCoy, associate clinical professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice.
