Article body
Out of hundreds of applicants nationwide, Auburn Plainsman Editor-in-Chief Destini Ambus was among the inaugural 20 students chosen to comprise The New York Times Corps. The Times Corps is a talent-pipeline program for college students to receive quality career guidance from New York Times journalists for the duration of their college career.
The program—specifically for students from underrepresented groups in journalism such as students of color and/or students from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds—replaces The New York Times Student Journalism Institute and will provide journalism and career feedback, as well as remote training sessions and conversations.
