Campus Safety will hold Campus Community Emergency Response Team, or C-CERT, training from Oct. 18 – Oct. 19.
C-CERT members are groups of trained individuals who have volunteered to take an active role during campus emergencies. Teams are generally organized by building with the goal to have an active team in every occupied building on campus. The C-CERT training program prepares team members for routine activation during severe weather, other emergency events and non-routine activation during a disaster. Topics include disaster preparedness, fire safety, disaster medical triage and treatment, light search and rescue, disaster psychology and team organization. As part of the class, participants are provided hands-on fire extinguisher training and automated external defibrillator, or AED, familiarization.
Interested employees, should contact their supervisor before enrolling in C-CERT training on Fast-Train.
