The Office of Information Technology and the Biggio Center have teamed up to offer a fall workshop on Oct. 6 in the Mell classroom building to provide resources and information to faculty interested in innovative technology—including virtual, augmented and extended reality—to transform teaching and learning experiences for Auburn students. This event is associated with the AUX: Immersive Learning Experiences grant opportunity, previously named the Student Learning Through Immersive Virtual Experiences grant.

This full-day workshop is free of charge for Auburn students, faculty and staff, and offers the opportunity to hear keynote presentations from expert faculty and alumni, experience immersive technology that is being used on Auburn’s campus, participate in a 360° image session and learn more about participation in the next round of grant funding.

This workshop will offer practical insight for all, whether you are an early adopter looking to push forward to the next big thing or a curious bystander beginning to explore the possibilities of immersive technologies.

The goals are threefold: (1) Facilitate a space for faculty to explore the potential uses of VR/AR/XR technologies in teaching and learning; (2) Promote faculty-led generation of ideas on how these technologies can be utilized in their existing courses for more immersive learning experiences; and (3) Encourage interested faculty members to apply for the AUX: Immersive Learning Experiences grant.
