For the fourth time in five years, the Auburn University Panhellenic Council has received the National Panhellenic Conference, or NPC, College Panhellenic Excellence Award, the highest award a college Panhellenic can receive from the conference. Auburn Panhellenic is one of only seven councils to receive the honor.

This prize honors college Panhellenic organizations that excel in academic innovation, community impact, judicial procedure, leadership, marketing, programming and recruitment. Auburn University Panhellenic is the governing body that coordinates the university’s 18 NPC sororities. The more than 5,000 undergraduate women who belong to Panhellenic sororities at Auburn are engaged on campus and succeed academically, with members earning an average GPA of 3.45.

“I am constantly impressed by the hard work that this community puts forth to make the world around us a better place,” Auburn Panhellenic President Caroline Green said. “Our women are truly committed to serving and loving their local and national philanthropies well. Because of this and so much more, I am so proud to call myself a Panhellenic woman.”

Councils receiving the Excellence Award are recognized for the impact the member organizations make on their community. Examples of Auburn Panhellenic’s community involvement include the annual Greek Sing event, which raised $142,105 for the Auburn-Opelika Habitat for Humanity this spring, and service partnerships with the Lee County Humane Society, the United Way of Lee County, the Auburn Cares Campus Food Pantry and others.

“Our Panhellenic members continue to do excellent work from year to year,” Greek Life Director Lindsay Holdren said. “I am proud of this community of women for being recognized for their accomplishments.”
