The Auburn Plainsman wins big at the Annual Alabama Press Association’s Editorial Awards

Winners for the Alabama Press Association’s Editorial Awards were announced on June 26, and The Auburn Plainsman took home several prestigious awards. In total, 52 professional and college publications submitted 1,858 entries in the annual editorial contest.

• 1st place: Best Spot News Story: Auburn Students Protest Sexual Assault, University Response, by Kara Mautz

• 1st place: Best Editorial: Auburn, You Have To Choose, The Auburn Plainsman Editorial Board

• 1st place: Best Editorial Page or Section

• 2nd place: Best Newspaper Website
