Campus Safety and Security reminds employees of guidelines for handling bomb threats and other suspicious calls

Recent news reports indicate an increase in bomb threats at colleges and universities across the country. Guidelines for all types of emergencies, including bomb threats and suspicious packages, are available on the Campus Safety and Security website and the free Auburn Safety app. All employees are encouraged to review these. To initiate a call trace on any suspicious or harassing phone call to a university landline, as soon as the caller hangs up, get a new dial tone on the same line, dial *57 and listen for the confirmation message that the trace has been completed. Report all threatening, harassing, or suspicious calls to the police.
