Auburn alumnus Evans takes Best Chef in South award at 2022 James Beard Awards

Auburn alumnus Adam Evans recently was named Best Chef in the South at the 2022 James Beard Awards.

Evans, who graduated from Auburn with a degree in psychology in 2002, is the executive chef and owner of Automatic Seafood & Oysters in Birmingham, Alabama. His restaurant has received plaudits from Esquire Magazine and Thrillist.

He received the honor during a ceremony at the Lyric Opera of Chicago. The James Beard Awards seek to recognize exceptional talent and achievement in the culinary arts among other hospitality fields.
