Article body
The public is invited to a reading by William Ogden Haynes, author of “Time on my Hands,” on Thursday, June 2, at 4 p.m. at the Caroline Marshall Draughon Center for the Arts & Humanities at Pebble Hill.
“Time on my Hands” was written during the pandemic of 2020-21. It was a time of isolation for nearly a year when Haynes, a retiree who lives alone, was determined to fill his days doing something productive.
Haynes is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Communication Disorders at Auburn University. In addition to academic publications, Haynes has published several collections of poetry and Youthful Indiscretions, a book of short stories.
The event is free, open to the public and will be followed by refreshments. Books will be available for purchase and signing. The Caroline Marshall Draughon Center for the Arts & Humanities at Pebble Hill is located at 101 S. Debardeleben St. in Auburn.
