On Tuesday, May 10, at noon, The Women's Philanthropy Board will host a free virtual program featuring the leaders of Alabama F.A.S.T: the FAFSA® Application Survival Toolkit, a statewide initiative that provides information and resources to high school students, parents, school counselors and administrators across the state to aid in making informed decisions about the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA, process.

The FAFSA mandate enacted in fall 2021 by the Alabama Board of Education requires all high school graduating seniors to either complete a FAFSA application or a non-participation waiver process to opt-out of FAFSA completion. This FAFSA workshop will cover: Making the right decision for your family such as FAFSA or Opt-Out, common FAFSA misconceptions, FAFSA steps and checklist, engaging with private financial aid counselors/consultants and avoiding scams.
