President Gogue receives Outstanding Mentor Award for dedication to student success

President's Mentoring Circle, formed by Auburn Graduate Student Ja'Lia Taylor, is a mentoring group for students interested in Higher Education Leadership. President Jay Gogue has facilitated the mentoring group for the past two years. The students have gained valuable lessons about effective leadership throughout the mentorship program.

President Gogue invited a diverse group of leaders to lead sessions from all over the country, including other university presidents and administrators. The mentoring group consists of Shikia Carter, NeCall Wilson, Alesia Ruffin, Jerisha Farrer, Veronica Alston, Deja Trammell, Jon Walker, Maurey Bland, Clarissa Beavers, Akilah Alwan, Aariyan Tooley, Aleah Horton and Ja'Lia Taylor.

On April 7, the President's Mentoring Circle was able to come together in fellowship with President Gogue, Mrs. Gogue and Interim Dean Vini Nathan at the President's home. The group presented President Gogue with the Outstanding Mentor Award for his dedication to student success.
