This May, University Writing will host two events to support faculty and staff as they develop grant proposals and work on writing projects.

Grant Writing Workshop:

This workshop is designed to help participants write a more effective grant proposal by offering strategies for identifying what funding sources to look for, tailoring research ideas to fit the call for proposals and developing a compelling narrative that will get ideas funded. Experts across campus will join this session to discuss resources and support for grant writing at Auburn University. Participants will have time to work on their grant writing projects, so bring your notes, drafts or calls for proposals with you.

This spring, the Grant Writing Workshop will be held in a hyflex format on Monday, May 9, from 1-4 p.m. Please register online by May 1 at 5 p.m. Please email Christopher Basgier at crb0085@auburn.edu for more information.

Faculty and Staff Writing Retreat:

Each semester, University Writing offers a writing retreat that supports faculty and staff in powering through writing projects with a day of writing. This spring, the writing retreat will be held in a hyflex format on May 10 from 8:30 a.m.–4 p.m.

To register to attend in-person or virtually, register on the website by May 1 at 5 p.m. All registered attendees will be sent information on the retreat, including the Zoom link for those attending virtually.

Writing retreat attendees can participate in a morning goal-setting session, progress tracking check-ins, afternoon mindfulness breaks and an afternoon debrief. Anyone unable to attend the writing retreat live can access the retreat materials and complete it asynchronously as their schedule allows.
