Eight study abroad faculty earn a spot on this year’s provost promotion list

This year, eight Auburn University faculty members who have led or co-led study abroad programs were placed on the provost’s promotion list, including four with tenure appointments. The Office of International Programs would like to extend a sincere congratulations to the following Auburn faculty:

• Benjamin Bush, associate professor with tenure in industrial design, College of Architecture, Design and Construction – Ireland• Alan Bugg, associate professor with tenure in building science, College of Architecture, Design and Construction – Various study abroad locations• Eric Wetzel, associate professor with tenure in building science, College of Architecture, Design and Construction – Various study abroad locations• Michael Zabala, associate professor with tenure in mechanical engineering, Samuel Ginn College of Engineering – Florence• Baker Ayoun, professor in hospitality management, College of Human Sciences – Jordan and Nepal• Evelyne Bornier, professor in world languages, literatures and cultures, College of Liberal Arts – Paris• Traci O’Brien, professor in world languages, literatures and cultures, College of Liberal Arts – Vienna• Terri Knight, senior lecturer in communication and journalism, College of Liberal Arts – Rome and Spain

These faculty members’ contributions to internationalizing teaching and increasing students’ global competencies within their fields have a direct impact on student success during and beyond their time at the university. Auburn’s Internationalization report, drawing from the university’s strategic plan, calls for an elevation of the Auburn student experience through engaging undergraduate and graduate students in international opportunities.
