This month, Associate Director of University Housing Maureen Young was elected as Alabama's state representative for the Southeastern Association of Housing Officers, or SEAHO. The state representative is a two-year term and Young will hold the position until the annual conference in 2024.
According to Young, the two main components of this role include serving as the liaison between SEAHO and the various institutions throughout the state as well as serving as a voting member of the SEAHO governing council.
"I am incredibly excited to serve in this role and represent Alabama," Young said. "SEAHO is an amazing organization, and I am looking forward to working with my housing colleagues across the state."
