Department of Art and Art History presenting lecture with “The Avengers” animator Shawn Kelly

The animation program in the Department of Art & Art History at Auburn University will continue its lecture series featuring animation industry luminaries on March 25. The next event features Shawn Kelly, animation supervisor at Industrial Light & Magic known for his work on dozens of blockbuster films.

On Friday, March 25, 7:30–8:30 p.m. CST, Kelly will join animation instructor and Ignite Animation Studios founder Jamy Wheless for a virtual lecture and Q&A. Kelly will share his professional journey and offer advice on animating characters and storytelling.

Kelly is an acclaimed animator who has worked on franchises such as “The Avengers,” “Star Wars,” “Transformers,” “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” and more. He is also a co-founder of Animation Mentor, an online animation school that connects students with industry professionals.
