History department hosting 'The War in Ukraine: Origins and Options' webinar

The Department of History will host an educational webinar on Thursday, March 17, at 4 p.m. via Zoom. “The War in Ukraine: Origins and Options” features Cathleen Giustino, professor of Central and Eastern European history and doctoral students Rusty Allison and Lydia LaFavor. Giustino brings to the discussion decades of Cold War scholarship on, as well as residency in, Eastern Europe. Allison and Lafavor bring their current historical scholarship on the Soviet Union and Russia as well as backgrounds in U.S. military and intelligence services.

Anyone interested in the historical context for the war, Ukrainian-Russian relations and the current situation itself are invited to attend.
