The Office of Public Service within University Outreach has been hosting a virtual volunteer fair since 2019 under our AuburnServes initiative. AuburnServes gives students, faculty and staff the opportunity to propose an opportunity or serve as a volunteer with our community partners. This spring, we are partnering with a number of local non-profit organizations in Lee and Macon County areas to sponsor our Spring Virtual Volunteer Fair during the week of Feb. 21-25.

This event will provide an opportunity for students, faculty and staff to connect with local nonprofit organizations virtually from their phones, laptops or tablets. We noticed an increase in volunteer needs from agencies, fueling our desire to revolutionize the way we create events for students on campus.

The Virtual Volunteer Fair will showcase the great work these local nonprofit and government organizations are undertaking in this diverse community. These organizations are focusing on areas such as housing, education, art, food insecurity and more. We are expecting to attract a diverse group of people who are passionate our community and service. Everyone is welcome to access the volunteer fair for opportunities and general information about the amazing work these nonprofit organizations are doing in Lee and Macon County.

This is a great chance for students who have service projects to complete in the coming school year to connect with these organizations. It is also a fun way for residents to learn more about local initiatives and how they can assist locally.
